LABSIGDER was created within the scope of the K2K project - Building Capacity in Remote Sensing for Agricultural Development in Angola, a project implemented between 2017-2019 by the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences (José Eduardo dos Santos University, Huambo, Angola) and the University of Wageningen (Netherlands). It was funded by the Dutch Cooperation Agency.
To be a national scientific and technical unit leader in integrated Geoprocessing and Spatial Analysis services, in order to improve the decision making of a geographic space.
Strengthen the capacity of Angola’s institutions using Geographic Information Systems and Remote Sensing tools.
- Train technicians from education and research institutes and private sectors in GIS and Remote Sensing;
- Promote the use of GIS and Remote Detection techniques by professionals from various areas;
- Provide services related to geoprocessing and spatial analysis;
- Serve as GIS and Remote Sensing data provider to national and international institutions.
